PAN, Aadhaar linking deadline extended till June 30, 2023 The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the last date to link Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar to June 30, 2023. In a press release released on March 28, 2023, "From 1st July 2023, the PAN of taxpayers who have failed to intimate their Aadhaar, as required, shall become inoperative," CBDT said. The consequences during the period that PAN remains inoperative will be as follows: i) No refund will be made against such PANs ii) Interest will not be payable on such refund for the period during which PAN remains inoperative iii) TDS and TCS shall be deducted /collected at the higher rate, as provided in the Income-tax Act, 1961.
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the last date to link Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar to June 30, 2023.
Steps
Go to https://onlineservices.tin.egov-nsdl.com/etaxnew/tdsnontds.jsp
Select CHALLAN NO./ITNS 280 and Click Proceed.
In the Next Page , Select the following options
Tax Applicable - (0021) Income Tax (Other than Companies)
Type of Payment - (500) Other Receipt
Select Bank for Payment (SBI preferred)
Assessment Year - 2023-2024
Then fill the following details like Pan Number, Address,Email and Mobile Number
Then finally click Proceed, In that it will display the name for the entered pan number,
Click submit and do payment of 1000 Rs.
After that need to wait for 3 - 4 days.
Once the payment received, you can use https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/bl-link-aadhaar to link Pan and Aadhaar.
In case Name or DOB mismatch means , kindly edit Pan / aadhaar via online or visit Nearest CSC center.
once that Name / DOB update, Kindly link the Pan and Aadhar via the above 7th point link.
Finally check the status from https://eportal.incometax.gov.in/iec/foservices/#/pre-login/link-aadhaar-status and get a successfully Linked text on the screen.
