11 newcomers, chance for seniors again: DMK candidates announced Chennai : The party leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has announced the details of the candidates who will be contesting in 21 constituencies on behalf of DMK in the Lok Sabha elections. 11 candidates have been announced as new candidates.
Polling for the 39 constituencies of Tamil Nadu and the Puducherry constituency will be held in a single phase on April 19. In Tamil Nadu, various parties led by DMK, AIADMK and BJP are facing the election together. Filing of nominations has started today (Wednesday).
The DMK was the first to start the alliance talks and was the first to complete the seat allocation by allotting the respective seats to the alliance parties. As far as DMK is concerned, it is directly contesting in 21 constituencies.
In the DMK alliance , Chidambaram and Villupuram constituencies have already been allotted to Vishikau, Nagai and Tirupur constituencies to Communist Party of India, Madurai and Dindigul constituencies to Marxist party, Ramanathapuram to IUML and Namakkal to Kongunadu People's National Party. DMK is directly contesting 21 constituencies by allocating seats to Congress and Madhyamik .
Today, Stalin announced the details of candidates contesting in 21 constituencies on behalf of DMK.

11 Newcomers: 11 new candidates have been announced. 3 women have been given an opportunity. Likewise, 6 lawyers and 2 doctors are included in the list of candidates. There are also 2 doctors and 19 graduates.
Minister Nehru's son Arun Nehru is contesting from the Perambalur constituency as expected. Minister Duraimurugan's son Kathir Anand has been given another chance in Vellore constituency. Apart from them, Kanimozhi, Kalanidhi Veerasamy, Dayanidhi Maran and Tamilachi Thangapandian have got another chance.
