Arrested by Kejriwal Aam Aadmi Party protests in Delhi are intense; Increased police protection New Delhi: Security has been beefed up as a protest has been announced today (Friday) against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and National Coordinator of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi ITO Metro station is closed.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday night in a money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy case. 2,800 crore corruption has been alleged in the licensing of liquor shops in the Union Territory of Delhi. In this regard, the Enforcement Department has registered a case and is investigating. Chief Minister Kejriwal was summoned 9 times between November and March last year in connection with the case, but he did not appear.

The case filed by Kejriwal in the Delhi High Court against these summons came up for hearing on Thursday in a bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kaith and Manoj Jain. While the High Court refused to grant an interim stay on the arrest, the Enforcement Directorate officers went to Kejriwal's house in Delhi at 7 pm yesterday and conducted a search. He was interrogated for about 2 hours. He was arrested at 9.20 pm. The Enforcement Directorate will produce him in a special court in Delhi today (Friday).

Meanwhile, police have beefed up security by erecting multi-layered barricades on the roads leading to the BJP office in Delhi. This action has been taken while the Aam Aadmi Party has announced that it will hold a protest in front of the BJP office today against the arrest of Kejriwal. Similarly, the traffic police have asked to avoid the route leading to Central Delhi due to the protest.

Central Delhi Road, where the BJP headquarters and enforcement department office is located, has been closed. Similarly, according to the instructions of the police, the Metro Rail Company has announced that the Delhi ITO Metro station will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm.

Delhi Chief Minister will be produced in court today. It will request the court to remand Kejriwal for questioning. A total of 16 arrests have been made in the case, including those of Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "Enforcement officials searched every nook and cranny of Arvind Kejriwal's house. They seized only Rs.70,000 from the house. Arvind Kejriwal's mobile phone seized. "The enforcement department has not seized any evidence, property documents, illegal money transaction or any related document," he said.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Adishi had informed that a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on Thursday night seeking to cancel Arvind Kejriwal's arrest through a midnight hearing. He further said, “Arvind Kejriwal will continue to be the Chief Minister of Delhi as he was in jail. If necessary he would run the government in prison. There are no rules that Kejriwal should not continue as Chief Minister while in jail until he is found guilty," he said.

“It is Arvind Gojriwal who has reaped the seed now. His arrest indicates that the scam has been defeated. Arvind Kejriwal should resign immediately. Party leaders saying that Kejriwal will rule from jail is an act of insulting the rules of political silence," Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said.

Meanwhile, India's alliance parties, Congress and NCP (Sharath Pawar's team) have extended their support to Arvind Kejriwal. “People are afraid of the Lok Sabha elections. Panic is causing all sorts of trouble to the opposition,” the Congress party said.

Another ally NCP (SP) leader Sarath Pawar said, “Arvind Kejriwal's arrest shows that the BJP will go to any lengths to capture power. The India alliance is united against this illegal arrest," he said on his X page.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will meet Arvind Kejriwal and his family today to express his political support.
